What if senior management from across the business could be more easily engaged with net zero targets, and each other?

Expedia Group’s Climate Action Plan doesn’t just commit the company to reaching net zero greenhouse gas emissions across its operations by 2040—it also includes a commitment to make lower-carbon travel easier for suppliers to offer and for travellers to choose. To start tackling these ‘Scope 3’ emissions, Today Do This led a series of activation workshops for senior leaders from across the business.

In each session, we asked key decision makers how they could apply their skills and influence to help the company achieve its net zero targets. As always, we got each participant to choose a single idea to get started on, and guided them through our six-step process to start turning those ideas into action during the workshop. A few weeks after these initial workshops, we held update sessions to bring together leaders working on complementary projects and help them find ways of collaborating and overcoming obstacles to change.

The outcome

  • Dozens of new initiatives implemented across a variety of departments including hotels, brands and B2B services

  • Greater collaboration between teams that had previously been siloed

“The workshops were high-energy and action-oriented, and participants came away with new commitments as well as practical tools to begin making a tangible impact on sustainability from within their respective roles"
